It is about that time when the New Year buzz has worn off.

Maybe some challenges have already been thrown your way.

Or maybe you are at the end of your sanity levels waiting for the kids to be back at school if you have kids in the Southern Hemisphere still on school holidays.

Or maybe nothing much has happened, but the motivation levels are also waning as we head further and further away from the New Year buzz.

Or maybe you started great guns blazing full of action and enthusiasm but are fizzing out after nothing much seems to be happening from all your effort.

I get it.

Everyone talks about the buzz, the excitement, the smashing of goals and the exciting “new you” for the New Year, but people don’t talk much about the reality of what it can feel like on …

“The other side”

The side that has the sadness, the jealousy, the frustration, the anger, the feelings of not being good enough, worthy enough, deserving enough to create what you want.

The feelings that you don’t even have valid goals to go for.

The feelings that you are not lucky enough, or don’t know the right people, or don’t have the right skills, or never get given a break.

The feelings of overwhelm or anxiety with just thinking about taking action on your dreams and goals.

Yes, that side is REAL, and yes it can SUCK!

While everyone else seems to be out there “smashing it”, it can feel incredibility isolating when it seems like you are the only one feeling like you are not making any progress at all.

Trust me, you are not alone. In fact, those feelings are more common than you would ever believe. Most people are feeling that way. We just don’t talk about it, so no one knows!

After a short burst of initial excitement for the year ahead, we can find ourselves back into reality…. a reality where life shows up, challenges and curveballs are thrown at us, and we slip back into old ways and patterns than mean we feel like we have failed already.

We see a few other people going out and making it happen, and think everyone is doing that while we are sitting at home, feeling deflated and giving in to the feelings that it is not going to happen for us yet again this year.

This doesn’t have to be your story. This doesn’t have to be the path for your 2020.

You can change your path at ANY time and start moving towards achieving the results that you want in your business and life. Whether that is the 23rd of January or the 23rd of November. It is NEVER too late… unless of course you are dead, then it is too late. But since you are reading this, the great news is that you are not dead! 🙂

So how do you change the path and the feelings?

Here are 4 tips to work through those feelings and start making progress on your dreams…

1. Know that you are not alone

These feelings are normal and most people experience them. It is OK to feel that way, but don’t let it stop you from creating your goals and dreams. Fears, doubts, worries, sadness, frustrations will be there along the journey, no matter how successful you are. They don’t go away but you can work through them to ensure they don’t stop you.

2. Get clarity on what is important to you and what you want to create

Clarity is power, and not the bad kind of power, but the AWESOME kind of power. If you have clarity on what you want in your business and life then you are half way there! It is hard to get to a destination if you don’t know what the destination is, and truthfully that is where most people are. They want a different life, but they don’t have clarity on what that desired life is. Normally they know what they don’t want but don’t know what they do want! Get that clarity, work on it, let it evolve over time and refine it.

3. Clear those Inner Game blocks

Want to know the biggest stopper of your goals? It’s YOU. That doesn’t mean that you are crap or aren’t worthy or aren’t good enough. It means that YOU are human and us humans are great at stopping ourselves! More accurately, your Inner Game (beliefs, thoughts, energy, habits etc) is stopping you. It is usually our internal blocks (or inner world) that self-sabotages us from keeping on going. The great news is that your Inner Game can be changed, it isn’t fixed. Clear those blocks, shift that Inner Game and you are away running on creating the life you desire.

4. Take action, even if it is small

A small step in the right direction is still progress, and you will hit your goal if you keep going. Take action on your goals. Better yet, take consistent action every week that is going to move you towards the results you want. It doesn’t matter if it is a big step or small step, the important thing is to keep moving. If you do just 1 action each week that moves you towards what you want to create, then over a year that is 52 actions. That is massive progress in the right direction. And if you get off track and don’t take action for a few weeks, that’s ok. Refocus, reconnect with the results you want and take action again. It is never too late to pick it up again and start again. Take action and create your reality.

We are so much more capable than we think we are. We can create amazing things in our lives and in the world that we wouldn’t even believe is possible. One person can make a difference. You can make a positive impact in this world, and you can create a life and business that you love. Go do it, I am cheering you on!
