Social Media Marketing… How is yours going?

The dream that we were all painted was awesome right?
Social media is going to revolutionise your business… It is this huge opportunity that is massively leveraged, able to reach a global audience around the clock, and is going to be easy to tap into new networks and get clients…
…But that isn’t usually the reality of what actually happens when it comes down to it for most business owners.
… The phone doesn’t ring, the orders aren’t coming in, and there is this silence with no one interacting that can lead you to feel frustrated and disheartened about the whole world of social media.
I hear all the time that social media is a waste of time for businesses. I hear that social media doesn’t work to get clients. I hear how utterly frustrated businesses get when it comes to marketing on social media.
I get it. It can seem like a complicated machine that you can waste a huge amount of time on with very little result if you don’t know how to make it work.
But it is absolutely possible to get your social media marketing working for you… to generate real business and get you real clients that want to buy your products and services.
Here’s a few interesting stats for you…
1.59 billion people on average log onto Facebook daily and are considered daily active users according to Facebook in 2019.
Whoa! That is a LOT of people! If you can get exposure to and engage even a tiny, itty bitty slice of that audience with your marketing, that could totally change the game for your business.
Here’s another one… 42% of marketers report that Facebook is critical or important to their business. This is huge and means that it DOES work, if done right.
A huge percentage of our own client base has come from social media.
Social media isn’t going away anytime soon, so why not embrace it and utilise it to make a greater impact to help more people with your products, services and/or wisdom.
So let’s help you out, here is 3 reasons that you aren’t getting clients (or very few) from your social media efforts…
1. You don’t have a strategy
Yep, I know. If your social media marketing isn’t working well then why have a strategy right? Well maybe the reason it isn’t working is because you don’t have a decent strategy!
An effective social media marketing strategy is crucial for your success on social media. It isn’t just about posting up some random content on your Facebook page and the phone suddenly rings off the hook with clients ready to pay you.
You really do need a strategy, and one that uses effective tactics that are actually going to work for YOUR specific business, because every business is different, and so should every social media marketing strategy plan as well.
2. You are out of balance
You are not making any actual offers or you are making too many offers! There is a balance that needs to go on here. If you are making too many offers people will ignore you and your reach will be tiny.
If you aren’t making any offers and just providing massive value then people aren’t usually going to magically reach out and ask to buy off you.
There needs to be the right mix here to hit the sweet spot where you are providing value to your audience and also making engaging offers that they are going to jump on.
3. You haven’t committed to it
If you don’t see how it is going to work, then you are not likely to commit to putting in the time on social media for your business. BUT in order to get social media working for you then you need to commit to it.
It can take time and effort to get the parts working, but the effort is absolutely worth it. I can do a post now and make hundreds or thousands of dollars from a single post. Nice right, but the foundation has been laid to make that happen. It didn’t happen over night.
So you have to put in the work and effort and commit to making it work in order to get it to work. And by the way, outsourcing your entire social media presence to a digital marketing company usually doesn’t work.
I’ve seen too many businesses waste a small fortune on social media management and get NO real return or even any benefit to their business.
A client I worked with recently was pouring hundreds of dollars each month on social media management and was getting very little exposure and no clients! I gave this client some tips on how they could improve the reach and engagement they were getting, and in their first post they got an increase of 350% in the reach that post got! Plus they are now getting clients from their social media efforts within less than a month of the changes.
Not hard with just 1 tweak to improve the reach and engagement. Pretty cool.
